After seven years in the NFL, Las Vegas Raiders linebacker Blake Martinez has retired mid-season because he makes enough money selling Pokémon cards.

Blake Martinez, a Las Vegas Raiders player, announced his retirement from the NFL at the relatively young age of 28.

He sold an extremely rare and valuable Pokémon Illustrator card for a hefty sum two weeks before announcing his retirement mid-season.

Martinez, a former NFL player, has been collecting Pokémon cards for years and has a collectible card business, buying and selling rare cards online.

He claims to have found the rare 'Swirllustrator' during one of his pack openings.
